The Athena Network host a weekly Twitter Hour on Monday’s from 8-9pm. To get involved with the chat you are able to follow by using the hashtag #Athenabizhour.

Each week will feature an expert in their field or a focused Networking & Strategy Topic . It is a fabulous forum to ask and answer each others questions around the topic or profession, share advice tips and testimonials.

It is also a great opportunity to connect with fellow members, Regional Directors and visitors from around the UK and beyond.

Lovely treat but full of sugar. even natural sugar need to be moderate

I travel a lot, how can I keep on track when I have to stay in hotels overnight?

If you do slip off track then don’t write the whole day off as a bad one!

Breakfast in hotels, eggs-scrambled or poached, wholemeal toast, butter not spread, fruit not fruit juice. Forget sausages

What is number one weight loss tip and how easy is it to fit into everyday life?

@LoveYoutrition No 1 always is water. We often confuse hunger & thirst. Hunger is 1st sign of dehydration, so drink first then eat

Water also curbs appetite and fills our stomachs so we eat less & makes skin glow. Cheap godsend!

What confuses you most about nutrition in weight loss?

@AthenaWarks That weight loss and nutrition appear together a lot of the time ?

sadly often they are unconnected! a healthy body is naturally slim. a slim body not naturally healthy!

@Networkbarefoot That low fat food has sugar/aspartame in it and that does not seem healthy to me

low fat means taste removed. something else added usually sugar. aspartame is horrible. use little honey if necessary

cut sugar for 5 days and everything with sugar will seem to sweet.

excellent. focus on what you want to achieve, not what you are giving up always

Weight loss means giving up my favourite foods, that’s why diets always fail. What can I do? How can I fit treats in?

Favourite foods can easily change, like habits. What makes this food favourite. Taste is flexible to change

Swap out ingredients of fav meals to make healthier.White to wholemeal, pasta to courgette, cream sauces to crème fraiche etc

Why do we crave sweet treats in the evening after meals, we eat well all day and then blow it after dinner even at home?

Some people on diets don’t eat enough for their needs in the day, then have to eat sugar at night to fill the energy deficit

We are tired, maybe not enough complex carbs at dinner to replenish lost energy

Top Tips

My food choices for today were planned and bought yesterday. This avoids poor choices and keeps me on track to my weight and health goals

There is always a healthier food option in a more appropriate portion size in every situation, even in an airport or service station.

You are not giving up anything.You are choosing not to eat the products that got you to the weight that makes you unhappy.

Our bodies never ask for refined sugars, our brains do. These sugars have no place in our bodies and are stored as fat around our waists!

Don’t count the calories in what you eat, count the chemicals. Real foods do not have chemicals, food products do. Avoid food products!

Weight loss is 90% mindset, 10% information. Food information can be found everywhere, Mindset is only found within you.

Taste is learned and can be unlearned.The better food choices you make, the more your body will ask for them and so your tastes will change.

What you think about your ability to lose weight affects your ability to lose weight. If you say you won’t be that weight, you won’t be.
